An acoustic shadow, according to Wikipedia : ) , is an area through which sound waves fail to propagate, due to topographical obstructions or disruption of the waves via phenomena such as wind currents. It is to sound what a mirage is to light.
I started off with the idea that a peacekeeper would have a weapon and would keep it with the intention of never having to fire it. I feel that the illustration alone conveys this. I felt like I had to continue with typography to completely round out the atmosphere and give it purpose. It might have lost some of its narrative in the process, but I feel like the ultimate purpose of this piece was to emulate the feeling of wartime posters and propoganda. That is, committing to one ideal 110%.
